Panama redux

So we returned to Panama for another site visit to the Cocobolo Nature Reserve to do some more SPOT testing. We ran a version of yggdrasil code to work on routing sensor information from a forest plot to the main research hut. We had some successes (eight SPOT hops in the middle of a torrential downpour) and some failures (could hop to the eight SPOT but not retrieve its sensor data).

WWC student Nora Purcell worked hard on the soggy SPOT testing and also collaborated with Panamanian student Emilio Espino on a forest ecology mapping project. We look forward to working with our favorite new Sun intern, Chris Fusting, on troubleshooting the code and getting this network up and running. Click here to see some photos from our latest trip.
